China Copper Demand Is Returning With Imports Picking Up. Bill Baruch On Southern Copper

After China’s real estate market problems for the better part of the last 2 years, China’s copper import data is improving. Bill Baruch shares how China’s demand matters for Southern Copper’s stock price.

You bought Southern Copper Corp. We mentioned you indirectly mentioned that you had bought a copper related thing and that’s it. ESCO. Yeah, it’s I mean, it’s I think, the best pure play in copper. I know a lot of people look at it Freeport but Southern copper is really, I think, the best pure play in copper right now. One of the things that quietly has taken place over the past couple of months is the Chinese yuan strengthening as the is up 3.4% against the dollar, which is a big move in China.

This has been destocking commodities. I think as we turn into this year, we’re going to see a lot of demand, a lot of new imports and that important data shout out to all the hands of sexual assault early this morning, 10% increase month over month, which is the highest almost two years on a copper being imported from China.

So I think this is the start of a big turn in commodities as we look into next year. You know, the sort of.
